Spring is Here!

Ms. Judy’s second grade is busy learning about the Earth.  We’ve learned what makes the inner part of our planet, as well as all about rocks, soil, and fossils.  We will finish our theme by learning about magnets, and then visit our next continent of Australia.  I visited Australia during the summer of 1993 and have so-o-o much cool stuff to share with the students.

We will also be practicing for the SAT test all second graders will take the last week of April.  Our practice booklets have arrived as well as a preview for parents.

Happy New Year!

I can’t believe that half the school year is over!  WOW!  That was fast!

As we embrace 2012, I have high expectations for the students:

1.  To gain a deeper understanding of comprehension, not just surface recalling of       facts.

2.  To be able to problem solve in mathematics.

3.  To write with purpose and clarity.

I’m excited to explore new possibilities !  Thank you for your support!

Welcome to Second Grade

I am so pleased to welcome you to my classroom.  We are going to have an exciting year of learning!  Even though standards for learning are more difficult than they have ever been, I believe that children can learn anything if they are engeged, excited, and eager.  My classroom reflects teaching and learning in many ways.   So let’s get started!
