Week 5/14/12-5/18/12

This weeks activities include:

-Anti-Bullying Program today at 1:15

-Sound Field Trip Tuesday (for those who qualified)

- Spring Olympics Tuesday (for those on the team)

- Biz Town field trip (for those in Biz Town)

- 4th grade Talent show Thursday at 1:30

Only 9 days of school left!!!! :)  Have a great week!

Week 5/7-5/11

This week we will have our last writing assessment of the year.

We will also be taking our field trip “Walk to the Park” on Friday.  Please make sure that your child wears tennis shoes (gym shoes) so they will be comfortable.

Thank you to all the parents that helped out with Teacher Appreciation week.  That was very nice of you :)

The last day for AR is May 18th.

All Library books are due back May 10th, (finish what your reading then return it.)

Only 3 weeks left!!

TCAP WEEK

The time is finally here!! Please make sure that your child gets a good nights rest every night and eats a good breakfast before coming to school.

Monday, we will be testing on reading and language.

Tuesday, we will be testing on math.

Wednesday, we will be testing on science.

Thursday, we will be testing on social studies.

The night before each test, please have your child study/review that particular subject.

I think we are going to do great!!  Wish us luck!!

 

TCAP review

For the next couple weeks we are going to be reviewing for the TCAP test.  Your child will be bringing home a binder specifically for TCAP that they need to study for 20 minutes each night.  When they are finished, please initial it so when we check it the next day we will see they studied.

Starting Friday, April the 20th, we will begin our dress up days for TCAP.  The list of days are:

Fri. 4/20/12- Hat day, wear your thinking cap for TCAP

Mom. 4/23/12- Wear red to show your “redy” for TCAP

Tues. 4/24/12- Orange and white day, “It’s TCAP time in TN!”

Wed. 4/25/12- Camo day, so we can “hunt” out the right answers

Thurs. 4/26/12- Hawaiian Day, b/c we are “surfing” through TCAP

Fri. 4/27/12- Superhero day, b/c we did a “SUPER” job on TCAP!!

There is also going to be special rewards given out each day during TCAPS (after testing) for those students who worked hard, checked over their answers until the time is up, and did what they were suppose to during the tests.  Please encourage your child to do those things so they will get the awesome rewards!!

Welcome back!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break!!  We only have 9 weeks left of the school year, which is crazy!! This year is flying by!

Make sure your child has turned in their permission slip to go on the field trip to Cumberland University on Wednesday.

TCAP review is now in full swing, so make sure your child comes to school prepared everyday please. :)

 

Week of March 5-9

Wow, only one week until Spring Break!!

This week we have a lot going on.

-March 7- report cards go home

-March 8- AR party (ice cream sundaes)

-March 9- Awards and Prowl celebration

I want to personally thank all the students who have done such an awesome job on achieving their AR goal and having good behavior this 9 weeks.  Some of you had high goals and still managed to reach them and made good behavior choices. Way to go!!!

When we return from Spring Break, we will begin our TCAP review.

**Don’t forget to send in pajamas for the pajama drive (new) please. The winning class gets to have a PJ day!

 

**Also, don’t forget about our Christmas Program which is next Monday Dec. 5 at 6:30.  Be here a little earlier to get ready.  There will be a silent auction going on to help raise money for the classes.

** For Christmas this year, our class is going to adopt an angel.  I will be letting you know what gender, size and things they like soon.  Hopefully we can give a child in need an awesome Christmas!! :)

Next week

Next week will be a two day week.  We will return to school on Monday the 28th.

Our writing assessment will be November 30.

****Please remember to send in Pajamas for our Pajama Drive.  They have to be new with tags.  They class with the most wins a P.j. party!****

American Education Week

This week is American Education week.  Each day

has a different theme.

  •        *  Wednesday, November 16:  Education Support Professional Day (Cupcakes will be provided/potluck)

  •        *  Friday, November 18:  Substitute Educators Day (Apples will be provided this day)
