The Difference Between Speech and Language
I wanted to give you a brief understanding of the difference between speech and language skills since children can have difficulty with both or one or the other.
Speech refers to the sounds the child is able to produce or say (are the saying a /t/ for a /k/ sound or deleting all their ending sounds).
Language refers to the way a child communicates verbally (are the using complete sentences) and what the child understands when someone is talking to him or her (can they answer questions appropriately or follow directions).
These are some general speech and language skills to get you started! If you have any questions please contact me or your child’s teacher anytime!
Welcome!
Thank you for visiting the speech and language therapy site!! I look forward to a wonderful year!!
