We really enjoyed our Spring Break, and we are glad to be back to school and ready to make the fourth and final nine-weeks of school our best yet!
Announcements
Just a few reminders . .
TCAP tests will be given the week of April 23rd, the final Children's Progress benchmark assessments will be given the following week, the week of April 30th, and our third and final DIBELS benchmark assessments will be given the week of May 7th. Whew! I know our students will do their best on these assessments!
Also, don't forget to check out the link on our school website, "Parent Involvement", where you will find our school's philosophy and beliefs about parental involvement, as well as listing some of the activities that will be provided throughout the school year to partner parents, students, and teachers! We look forward to seeing our Parent Involvement activities progress to new heights in the days ahead!
Finally, I thought you might enjoy reading about some actions and behaviors that relate to boys and girls as they attempt to become good readers!
What Do Good Readers Do?
1. They make predictions.
2. They reread if they don't understand.
3. They imagine they are in the story (visualizing).
4. They read the back cover to see what the book will be about.
